Some city police departments require alarm users to register their alarm and display a user's permit in a front window.
NOTE
You can call your local police non-emergency telephone number to find out if you are required to register your alarm. In some areas, the Alarm Permit is issued by the Local Sheriff's department.
Many cities provide an online Application form (either an online service or a PDF form that you can print and take to the appropriate city department.)
