Security FAQs

Your access code (also known as user code, master code, or security code) is a four (4) digit number that is used to arm/disarm your security system.

NOTE: The factory settings are designed to meet most normal user situations.  Therefore, the only step you usually need to do when adding users is assign a user number and a security code (4-digit number).

Your installer assigned a master code that is used to perform all system functions.  In addition, you can assign up to 15 different security codes for use by other users.

• Only the Master Code can assign other user codes.
• Users are identified by two (2) digit user numbers.  03 through 17 (users 01 and 02 are reserved).
• In addition to a security code, each user can be assigned various system attributes.
• User codes can be used interchangeably when performing system functions.
• User code programming involves these steps:

1. Choose a user number and assign a four (4) digit security code.
2. Assign an authority level to that user.
3. Assign other attributes as necessary.

Change Master Code:

Master Code + 8 [Code] + 02 new Master code + new Master code again.

The master code can be changed only by using the current Master code or by the Installer using the Installer code.   The master code can perform all system functions and assign codes; can change its own code as described.

Add User Code:

Master Code + 8 [Code] + user number + new user's code

User 01 = installer code (cannot be altered)

User 02 = master code

User 03 to 17 = standard users (can only be added or changed with the Master Code)

The keypad beeps once to confirm that the new user was added.

Delete User Code:

Master Code + 8 [Code] + user number + [#] [0]

The user code and all attributes programmed for this user number, including any associated RF keys, are erased from the system.

Authority Level:

Master Code + 8 [Code] + user number + [#] [1] + authority level

Authority Levels:

0 = standard user - can only perform security functions.  Cannot perform other system functions.

1 = arm only - can only arm the system. Cannot disarm or do other functions.)

2 = guest - can arm the security system, but cannot disarm the security system unless the system was armed with this code.  This code is typically assigned to someone who has a need to arm/disarm the security system only at certain times. e.g. babysitter or house keeper.

3 = duress - intended for use when you are forced to disarm or arm the system under threat.  When used, the security system will act normally, but can silently notify the Central Monitoring Station of your situation, if your security system was programmed to do so.
